Welcome

Wildlife is under threat. Somerset Wildlife Trust says: “biodiversity continues to decline across Somerset in all but a few protected sites, there are fewer wild places, and those that exist are smaller, less wild and more polluted, making it harder for wildlife to survive.” We all know about the massive decline in insect populations, fewer hedgehogs and dormice are to be found locally and specialist woodland and farmland birds are getting harder to find. This is attributed mainly to the loss of habitats. Land management leaves fewer and disconnected “wild areas” for wildlife.

What can we do about it?

This site is in its formative stage, any comments to make it better in future are welcome!
